Crowdvine
Dear colleagues,
As we are preparing for ICWSM we wanted to share with you this great social networking site http://icwsm.crowdvine.com which many participants are using to contact each other, coordinate travel, discuss topics, set up meetings, exchange pointers, sketch joint papers for 2010, etc.
We look forward to seeing you in San Jose!

Announcements: Review process and etc
As in previous years, the organizers are sharing the task of herding the ICWSM submissions through the review process. I spent President's Day weekend going through the stack of 20-odd papers I've been assigned, and was overall very impressed by the quality of them. If you're on the PC, remember that your final reviews are due very soon - Thursday, February 19, at 9:00 AM PST - and if you're behind you might get some reminders from a friendly ICWSM organizer. For now, here's a big "thank you" to the PC members for spending the time needed for reviewing - it's careful reviewing that makes a technical conference strong.
Meanwhile, some motivational announcements: AAAI has made the proceedings of ICWSM-2008 freely available in their digital library, and the ICWSM-2009 proceedings will likewise be freely available (after we decide what's in it!). So, if you get bored at the ICWSM reception, you can download the proceedings of your iPhone and read them...but that's not likely, because the reception will be at the San Jose Tech Museum. Thanks to Carol Hamilton for her work in making these happen!
